In 1973 The Friends of the Grand Theatre successfully opposed the demolition of the Grand Theatre in a public enquiry. The Theatre was subsequently restored for use as a Bingo hall by EMI until such time as funds were available to return it to Theatrical use. When the refurbishment was complete The Friends of the Grand were granted permission to use the Theatre for the first two weeks and consequently, on the 25th July 1977 the Theatre reopened with the Noel Coward play 'Fallen Angels' Below are some selected pages from the first night Programme.
