A Programme for 'Casanova' at The London Coliseum 1932
On the last night of Casanova a scuffle occurred between the two actors who alternated playing the lead role for the entire eight months of the run, Arthur Fear, and Charles Mayhew. Mayhew who played it first and went straight into the part on finishing training at Guildhall objected to Fear taking a curtain call in costume on the last night and a fight ensued. The Press jumped on the story and the Daily Mirror filled their entire front page with it. You you can see what they said and other Press clippings here.
