Arthur Lloyd's 'I Fancy I Can See Her Now'
Above - Arthur Lloyd's 'I Fancy I Can See Her Now'
The Great Arthur
Lloyd opens at Wilton's this evening,
and includes his 'New Christy Entertainment' where he acts as a coloured
chairman who interrogates 'Bones' and uses changes of voice with great
effect. He portrays a Lancashire bumpkin for 'I
fancy I see her now", the poor but artful "Clarionet
Player" and the dandy Major De Voy
to everyone's great enjoyment. Delighted too with the performances
of those contrasting serios Mesdames Annie Adams and Georgina Smithson.
A. L. is at Wilton's for a month only, and then goes to the Whitebait
at Glasgow. - 5th April, 1869 - 'John Wilton's Music Hall'
